In water treatment and disinfection, ultraviolet disinfection has always occupied an important position, and ultraviolet disinfection equipment is common for low-pressure, medium-pressure ultraviolet sterilizer.

Low-pressure UV technology: The pressure of the inert gas inside the lamp is lower than the atmospheric pressure of about 0.013MPa, and becomes a negative pressure state. The UV rays emitted by the lamp are 185nm and 254nm monochromatic spectrum.Traditional low-pressure technology single lamp power of 14-320W, low-pressure high-intensity lamp technology based on the traditional low-pressure UV technology developed by the single lamp power is greater, between 270 to 800W, UV intensity is stronger.

Low-pressure UV can meet the general treatment capacity of water treatment requirements, and is suitable for frequent opening and closing operation requirements of the system. Low-pressure UV lamps have high conversion efficiency, up to 40% power into sterilization energy, low cost, so widely used in pool water, aquaculture water and other disinfection systems.

Medium Pressure UV Technology: The pressure of the inert gas inside the lamp is equal to the atmospheric pressure, which can emit a wider range of multi-wavelength UV rays in the wavelength range of 230-370nm, containing the wavelengths of 245nm, 260nm, 297nm, and 340nm required for the reduction of chloramine.

Therefore, medium pressure UV is more advantageous for pool water disinfection and chloramine elimination applications in swimming pools.

The output of multi-spectrum UV light can decompose urea and degrade chloramines in the water body, while effectively enhancing the water penetration rate.Medium-pressure ultraviolet work is basically not affected by temperature, can be in the 0 ~ 80 ℃ water temperature conditions within the range of normal work.

Advantageous Comparison:

Low-pressure ultraviolet

Air pressure inside the lamp 0.013MPa

Monochromatic UV spectral output

Destroys only the DNA of the microorganism

Single lamp power 14-320W

Medium Pressure Ultraviolet

Air pressure inside the lamp is equal to atmospheric pressure

Multi-band spectral output

Total disruption of microbial structure

Single lamp power 400W-10KW

Removes chloramine and other chemical residual chlorine.

Medium voltage is less affected by ambient temperature

Increased water penetration

Low-pressure ultraviolet light, because of its single-spectrum output, only has the function of sterilization and disinfection and algae inhibition in swimming pool water treatment applications. Medium-pressure UV is more efficient and thorough in sanitizing and disinfecting, removing urea and chloramines, and protecting swimmers' eyes and skin from pool water irritation; in addition, medium-pressure UV is effective in improving water penetration, making the pool water look clearer.
