Treatment of some serious fish diseases

Koi fish is one of the better ornamental fish to keep, but sometimes some diseases can still occur if they are not properly kept, have bad water quality or are not properly managed. 1Small Melon Bug Disease

Treatment:

(1) Raise the water temperature by 2-4 degrees Celsius at the early stage of the disease, so that the sudden rise in temperature will cause the death of the cucumber bugs and achieve the goal of curing without medicine;

(2) If the water temperature is above 27 degrees Celsius and the koi is still suffering from white spot disease, in addition to the method of warming up, you can also use a malachite green solution with a concentration of 0.5Mg/l or 2mg/l methylene blue solution to bathe the fish body for a few consecutive days until the condition improves;

(3) Mix 2mg/l formalin solution and 2mg/l malachite green solution and soak the sick fish for about 20 minutes; after soaking, the sick fish should be transferred to aquariums or ponds where the water is changed. If the condition does not improve, the same concentration can be used to soak the sick fish every 3 days;

(4) The treatment should be accompanied by strengthening of feeding management, feeding more nutritious bait to enhance the resistance of the fish body, to avoid the sudden temperature difference to bring discomfort to the fish.

2Lernaea anchovna

Treatment:

(1) When there are a few anchorites on the fish, cut the worms off with scissors, smear the wound with purple solution, and then soak the sick fish with 2mg/l furacilin solution to control the wound from being infected by bacteria;

(2) If Lernaea anchovyi is parasitized in large quantities, the body of the worms and wounds can be coated with potassium permanganate solution at 1%, then fix the medication with Vaseline and put it into the original aquariums and pools of the fishes. The original aquarium and fish pool should be added with furacilin to make the water concentration 2mg/l. The next day, apply the medicine again according to this method, knowing that the anchor lerpine is softened and died by the medicine, then gently remove the dead worm body with forceps.

3Fishbone Disease

Treatment:

(1) Put the sick fish into a medical aquarium and soak the sick fish with 0.5mg/l trichlorfon solution for about 30 minutes, once a day until the condition improves. In addition, the original fish pond can be disinfected with 0.2% of crude salt solution once a day until the condition improves;

(2) Apply 1% trichlorfon solution to the fish grubs for about 30 seconds and then put the fish into the original fish pond. Furacilin can be added to the original fish pool to make the concentration of the solution 2mg/l, and then apply it once more on the next day, and the fish grubs will fall off naturally after they die.

4Water mold

Methods of prevention and treatment:

(1) Strengthen feeding management and prevent fish body injury. Appropriate feeding of vitamin E can enhance the resistance of the fish;

(2) Put the koi into a medical aquarium and soak the fish in 1mg/l potassium permanganate solution for 20 minutes, once a day, to know that the condition has improved;

(3) Apply malachite green solution at a concentration of 0.11 TP3T-0.31 TP3T to wounds and water mold occurrences;

(4) When treating an individual, wipe the wound or the localized area of the fish to which the cottony material is attached with a violet solution;

(5) Commercially available medications for water mold are applied according to the instructions for use;

(6) During the breeding period of koi, 0.2mg/l malachite green can be used to sterilize the fertilized eggs in advance to prevent moldy eggs.
